Barbell Club WOD

– 5x2x70 or 2 to 5kg heavier than last week
– from knee or just below knee to practice transitions and check bar path through hip

– 1x5x70
– drop 10 to 13kg then 3×5
– speed out of the hole > everything

– 4x6x65 of 1RM deadlift or 2 to 5kg heavier than last week
– hinge strength

2-3 rounds:
10 GHR (weighted?)
10 db split squats/side

accumulate a 180sec hollow rock

Kettlebell S&C WOD

Simple & Sinister, then

Long-cycle clean and jerks.

  1. I am SO HAPPY to read this. Something I NEVER appreciated as someone who has the privilege that comes with being hetero is the safety concern of my LBGTQ friends and community (emphasis on the T!) at gyms. I really appreciate someone brought this up and I even MORE appreciate that our gym is a safe space for everyone. I have always appreciated our gym in particular relative to some of the other options I might have on the eastside because of the diversity of our gym – I don’t feel like the token ANYTHING in our community, I feel safe and surrounded by people who don’t stare at me and wonder what ethnicity I am (ooh, you’re so exotic) or why I am messing with my femininity in trying to build muscle (ooh, you want to be so bulky?!). But I did not appreciate the additional fear that comes from those who are attacked for wanting to feel and look on the outside the way they do on the inside. More reason to love love love my gym and the amazing people that are in it.

    EDIT: I also want to add – that kind of safe community comes from the TOP! Andrew and Tony, and all of our amazing coaches, we have this great place because of your dedication and love. We are all so grateful.
